Life is not that smooth always. It is especially difficult while coming back from a difficult time. Recovery can just be healing from some sort of physical illness, mental issues, or personal setbacks. During this time, it is vital to take care of balancing work, life, and mental health. 

 

I recently hit a mental setback. That’s when I decided to go to one of the birthday celebration places near me. After playing, I realized how efficient they are! They gave me just the break I was looking for.

Further, celebrate your small wins-they are steps to bigger achievements! 

 

2. Routine 

Organize your day by setting a routine. Decide or plan on what time you are supposed to work, eat, rest, and do other things. Stick to it as much as possible. A routine helps your body and mind set in the rhythm. So, you come out feeling well-arranged. Further, you can remain less stressed. 

 

3. Communicate Your Needs 

Communicate with your employer, buddies, and relatives. Tell them about the treatment progress, time need, or help required for recovery. As an example, you can request for flexible working hours or a lesser number of tasks at work. Share household duties in the home with the family members. Honesty reduces misconception. Moreover, it will help you build a more supportive environment.  

 

4. Take Breaks for Yourself 

Rest is part of the recovery process. There is no need to feel guilty for resting while doing work or completing household chores. Small breaks allow your mind and body to rest and recover. Sleep is the natural rejuvenator for both physical and mental health. A sleeping disorder makes a person cranky, drowsy, and less effective in work. For quality sleep, you need at least 7-9 hours every night. Develop a peaceful bedtime routine. It can include activities like switching off all gadgets and having some warm tea. 

 

9. Know How to Say No 

It is perfectly fine to say no to a task or request if you feel it’s too much for you. You were never expected to please people all the time. Respect your boundaries and prioritize only things that matter. In saying no, you protect your energy and well-being as well. 

 

10. Focus on Gratitude 

It is easy to lose your way when trying to recover. Often many start looking at what is wrong instead of what’s working. The practice of gratitude changes one’s perspective in life. Further, it injects positivity. For this, write down three things you are thankful for each day. This could be as simple as a good meal or a nice word from a friend. 

 

Pitfalls to Watch Out For in Recovery 

Some of the mistakes to look out for in recovery: 

  1. Overworking oneself: Try not to overexert yourself in hopes of accelerating the recovery. It might worsen the situation. 
  2. Refusal of emotional acceptance: Frustration and anger are very bad for the mental well-being. Do not suppress your emotions. Instead, feel it. 
  3. Hydration and sleep: Lack of proper nutrients and rest can extend the recovery period. So, have the right nutrition and sleep well. 
  4. Comparison with Others: Everyone’s healing process is different. So, instead of comparing yourself with other, focus only on yourself.

Achieving the right balance between work and life is not impossible. With time, self-love, and the right mentality, you will find a good life. Just remember to believe in yourself.
